2021: The Void
Five years ago, true specialty coffee in Chhattisgarh was practically a myth. We were tired of seeing flat, over-roasted, commercial-grade coffee dominating the local cups. Akhand Mishra, the creator of 1dollarmoffee, decided that if no one was going to bring elite coffee culture to Raipur, we were going to build it ourselves.
The Dirt & The Board
We didn’t just buy a roasting machine off the internet and call ourselves experts. We went straight into the dirt. We spent half a decade traveling to the high-altitude estates of Koraput (Odisha) and Chikkamagaluru. We trained extensively in Farm Cup courses, learning exactly how anaerobic fermentation alters a bean’s DNA.
Akhand studied directly under the Coffee Board of India, mastering advanced roasting profiles and rigorous quality control. We demanded total control—from the exact hour the cherry is picked, to the second it drops from our roaster.
The Frequency
But taste is only half the experience. Through years of R&D, we realized that the “vibe” of a coffee—whether it’s a bright, punchy cold brew like Bitch Bloom or a dark, resonant espresso like The Dark Side—matches the exact frequency of music.
That is how Kruptos was born. The first dedicated specialty roastery in Chhattisgarh, where every single roast profile is scientifically engineered and meticulously paired with a custom playlist. Taste the sound.
